Anthracnose prevention: – Research suggests that light and frequent top dressing can build protection around the crown of the plant to help prevent serious damage from anthracnose infection.  There is also evidence that increasing the potassium content of the leaf tissue significantly reduces anthracnose development.  STRI trials showed a significant reduction in disease when Sustane 5-2-4 was applied before the onset of summer stress.  Use a combination of cultural top dressing practices combined with the use of targeted low salt fertilisers like Sustane 5-2-4 and Pot Carb Max 0-0-25 to prevent disease developing.  Good quality biostimulants such as Essential Plus will always be beneficial in reducing stress which is a big factor in anthracnose development.
